If your image is Photojournalistic, please include a description! It doesn't have to be lengthy - who, what, where, when.
An example:

Description says: "A Massai Village in Kenya, Jan 2009"
Stories/in-depth descriptions are always welcome. Example:

The description here gives the viewer a good background into details of the protest, which not only puts the image into context but also educates the reader, which is always a good thing : )

The first one is poor composition - all we can see is the back of someone and half a flag. The photo does not really show us what is going on.
The second one shows a scene but it's just not a great photo. There is no real focal point in the photo, my eye is just scanning around wondering what to look at.
